Dorus De Vries has tipped his former team mates to remain in the Premier League after the 2-2 draw at Molineux on Saturday<\/p>\n
De Vries told the Western Mail after the game\u00a0\u201cThey look pretty good and compliments to Brendan Rodgers, who has made some additions to the squad this season,\u201d said de Vries, who kept 46 clean sheets in his last two seasons at Swansea.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey try to pass around you, they\u2019ve got a great midfield, quality up front and at the back as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have adapted to life in the Premier League very quickly.<\/p>\n
\u201cGiven what I\u2019ve seen on Saturday and in earlier games, Swansea can definitely stay up.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve got a great squad that have been together for ages and, with the couple of great new additions in there, they have good quality.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the philosophy they\u2019ve stuck with over the last few seasons, there are a lot of positives.<\/p>\n
\u201cI talked to Michel after the game and he could totally understand my decision because it was the same for him when he left Utrecht,\u201d added de Vries.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor him it\u2019s a great opening.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s good that he\u2019s playing in the Premier League because he\u2019s a Dutch international.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou always set personal challenges and to be involved in the Dutch national team would be a dream.\u201d<\/p>\n
The goalkeeper was given a mixed reception from the 2,000 travelling Swansea supporters, with some jeers when his name was read out before the game.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cThe reaction was normal and I would have expected a bit more if anything because I know how it\u2019s been for other players that have left the club, like Jason Scotland.<\/p>\n
\u201cLee Trundle was the only one who got a positive reception.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat was really good to see was there were loads of Swansea supporters here.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd something that was very dear to me was that familiar faces among the Swansea fans were asking about me.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey wanted to see me so I went outside to see them, to give them autographs which brought back great memories.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s something I really enjoyed because I had a great relationship with the fans.<\/p>\n
