Ashley Williams believes that the Swans first away win of the season could be the first of many<\/p>\n
THe Swans finally broke their away day duck with a comprehensive 2-0 win at Villa Park on Monday and Williams thinks that could be the first of several away wins this season<\/p>\n
He told the Western Mail\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019ve proved we can do it so there can be no excuses now<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we can do it at Villa, we can do it anywhere.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe proved to ourselves we can win at a place like Villa Park and also dominate the game.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t a smash and grab, I don\u2019t think many people can say we didn\u2019t deserve it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe started fast and finished strong so it was close to perfect.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think we\u2019ve thought about it too much. Obviously the media and the gaffer kept barking on about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cNormally you\u2019re quite happy if you\u2019re winning at home. As long as you\u2019re looking after your home form, which we\u2019re doing, you get what you can on the road. But we probably needed a win so to come to a place like this and get it is fantastic.<\/p>\n
\u201cI looked up at the clock when it said 85 minutes and I thought this is the sort of time it started going wrong.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it wasn\u2019t the same feeling \u2013 we weren\u2019t vulnerable. We were in control.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were putting the pressure on like we knew they would, but we were knocking it back. After the Wolves game we said it wasn\u2019t so much of a bad thing because we learned so much that day.<\/p>\n
\u201cMonday was one of those days where you could see lessons were learned.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe defended superbly as a team. Apart from the last chance in the last minute they didn\u2019t create that much. We\u2019ve defended well all season apart from in the odd game and we have to keep that going.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone has contributed over the last week,\u201d added Williams. \u201cPeople like (Andrea) Orlandi, (Stephen) Dobbie and Luke Moore have come in and done brilliantly.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think people realise how difficult it is to come in when you haven\u2019t been playing because you\u2019re not as fit as the rest of the team.<\/p>\n
