Brendan Rodgers reaffirmed his happiness at Swansea when he said that he will conclude his contract talks with the club at the right time<\/p>\n
He said that the Chairman and himself are looking at the right time to sit down and discuss a new deal but confirmed that he would not be looking to walk out of Swansea due to his happiness at the club<\/p>\n
He told Wales on Sunday\u00a0\u201cIf someone offered me X amount of pounds now it would not give me the happiness I get from working here at Swansea.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not going to run out on a club that has given me this opportunity.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere can I go that I can get them playing football like here?<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are very few clubs I could leave here for and be happy.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo at the right time we will conclude the deal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t yet signed a new deal,\u201d said Rodgers<\/p>\n
\u201cThe chairman and I are trying to find the time to sit down.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I have already spelled it out to the chairman that he does not have to worry about me. I\u2019m enjoying my work.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will get a deal done. I love my life here in Swansea and from my experience of being out of work it\u2019s not all about money, it\u2019s about happiness.<\/p>\n
\u201cI learned at Reading. I signed a three-year deal with this great vision and six months and 21 games later I was out of the job.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a brilliant club and I owe the people here. My objective is to make this club a sustainable club in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a pie in the sky idea when I first came in, but now we are here and we are working hard.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet\u2019s see where we go.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very simple. When I was manager at Watford, I was going to be the next big thing, having worked with top players and coaches.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter going to Reading for six months and failing there for the first time in my life, I could not get an interview for jobs in League One.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the six months previous I was a hero, six months later I was a bum. No-one would touch me.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen I got a wonderful opportunity here because they believed in me and felt that it was a six-month blip in my career.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo will I get carried away when people say nice things? No, because I know the other side.<\/p>\n
\u201cFate can deal you a good hand at times and coming to Swansea was a marriage made in heaven.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have my own identity and now people can see the type of style I like,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cI walk alone. There are none of them who will walk out on the touchline with me on a Saturday.<\/p>\n
