Scott Sinclair has set his sights on a place in Fabio Capello’s England squad with the Euro 2012 tournament just around the corner<\/p>\n
Sinclair told the Western Mail \u201cThe England senior squad is definitely the next step for me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not surprised at all that I\u2019m not on the Olympic shortlist because I want to get in the squad for the Euros.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have to take it as a positive that they must be thinking of me for the Euros rather than the Olympics.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I can be a late runner for the Euros then I\u2019ll be happy.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s nice to see the England manager down here, watching the English lads in team.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s great for us because if we can keep performing then we can get the call.<\/p>\n
\u201cNath, Danny and myself have all scored so hopefully the manager can go back and we can get a look in.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m always learning and the gaffer is always helping me. The next step for me is to move on and push to play at international level.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it\u2019s up to me to keep performing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel confident I will always put the ball away,\u201d said Sinclair, the Swans\u2019 top scorer last season with 27.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe key is to just relax. I have a light run-up to the ball and I pick my spot. I don\u2019t have a particular method.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe (Arsenal) keeper was quite close, but I managed to get the ball tucked into the side netting, so it would be difficult for any keeper to save.<\/p>\n
\u201cI practise every day. I do extra shooting after every training session to work on my finishing.<\/p>\n
\u201cPenalties are part of that, although Michel (Vorm) saves a few of my penalties.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have always taken penalties even, when I was really young. But when you go to different teams you have to wait as you are down the pecking order.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I came to Swansea I wasn\u2019t the first taker straight away.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had to wait my turn, but now when we get penalties, I step up.<\/p>\n
\u201cI only miss in training. Hopefully that can continue. If it does, I\u2019ll be happy”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
