Brendan Rodgers was happy to admit that his side was not at their best as they departed the FA Cup at the Reebok Stadium<\/p>\n
Brendan said after the game\u00a0“We weren’t at our best today, there’s no doubt about that<\/p>\n
“But I still felt as though we did enough to earn something out of the game.<\/p>\n
“We made too many mistakes today and we gave away a poor goal just before half time when we should have managed the game a little better.<\/p>\n
“I wanted to make sure the team was fresh, but a lot of the players that came into the side had already played in the Premier League this season,” he said.<\/p>\n
“I’ve got big respect for the FA Cup and I wanted us to go through today. It’s the best domestic cup competition in the world and I would never disrespect our supporters who travel all over the country to watch us play.<\/p>\n
“The build-up play for the first goal was fantastic,” he said. “As a team goal, it was brilliant and it was a world class finish from\u00a0Luke Moore.<\/p>\n
“Gerhard has been a great backup for Michel Vorm this season and there is no blame attached to hill at all.<\/p>\n
“But the positive is that we’ll come here (to the Reebok Stadium) in the league, with a strong mentality and I’m sure our performance will be a lot better.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
