Swansea have confirmed that they will not appeal Nathan Dyer’s red card after he was sent off at Wigan<\/p>\n
The Swans midfielder saw red in the second half of Satursday’s 2-0 win at the DW Stadium after a tackle on Jordi Gomez – a tackle that Alan Tate said the midfielder made the most of.<\/p>\n
However, after reviewing the evidence, the Swans have decided not to appeal the decision <\/p>\n
“Football people will tell you it’s barely a yellow card, never mind a red,” said Brendan Rodgers<\/p>\n
“Jordi Gomez has not done us any favours whatsoever by rolling about like he did.<\/p>\n
“As I say, football people will tell you it’s a yellow card at worst, but you have to weigh things up when there is a risk of losing an appeal and getting an extra game on the ban.<\/p>\n
“I want to defend the player because it’s wrong — you look at our record throughout the season and you will see that we are not that type of team and Nathan is not that type of player.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
