Neil Taylor has revealed that he is in the 35 man Team GB squad for the Olympic football tournament<\/p>\n
The 35 man squad will be trimmed to a final number of 18 on July 6 and Taylor revealed how happy he was to be in the provisional squad<\/p>\n
“It will be a great thing to do, if you make the final cut,” said Taylor to BBC Sport<\/p>\n
“I am delighted to have made the cut and it’s a great opportunity and we just have to wait for the final squad to see who he takes,” said the 23-year-old.<\/p>\n
“Technically, you are going to be an Olympian and that is something a lot of athletes work towards all their lives.<\/p>\n
“I think it will be a strong team,” said Taylor.<\/p>\n
“We have a country full of good young players but it is the Olympics and you expect the teams to be good.<\/p>\n
“I think Fifa have put players and coaches in a bad position in Britain,” said Taylor.<\/p>\n
“Because the countries don’t want it but the individual players want to play in the Olympics. It is a tough one.”<\/p>\n
Taylor is joined by fellow Welshman Craig Bellamy, Gareth Bale and Joe Allen while Ryan Giggs and Aaron Ramsey are also tipped to be selected<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
