Wales manager Chris Coleman has hailed the appointment of Michael Laudrup as a shrewd move for the club<\/p>\n
“From a coaching point of view it’s shrewd move from Swansea and from [chairman] Huw Jenkins,” said Coleman.<\/p>\n
“He has done his homework on Michael. He’s not going to bring in a manager who is going to change the philosophy.<\/p>\n
“I hope he [Laudrup] will have the same success as Brendan. I think Michael’s style will complement Swansea’s style,” added Coleman.<\/p>\n
“They are not going to want to change that because it has served them well and rightly so.<\/p>\n
“It is a very foreign approach the way Swansea City play, a Spanish approach if you like. And I can see why they have gone for Michael.<\/p>\n
“The Premier League is the most unforgiving league,” said the former Fulham manager.<\/p>\n
“It’s the toughest league in the world. He will know enough about the Premier League, working in it is another different thing.<\/p>\n
“I had to learn that when I was at Fulham, but Michael’s pedigree is very good.<\/p>\n
“They [the Swansea directors] have obviously done their homework as they have on all their managers they have appointed,” added Coleman.<\/p>\n
“Because they have this philosophy of play right the way through the club which has served them well in the last six or seven years since Roberto Martinez was there.<\/p>\n
“I think Michael will complement that and I think they will complement each other. He has a good reputation on the coaching circuit.”<\/p>\n
