Steven Caulker is not ruling out a return to the Swans after his loan spell last season<\/p>\n
“My aims now are to be at Spurs, especially at the start of the season,” said Caulker, who last week penned a new deal to stay at White Hart Lane until 2016.<\/p>\n
“I’m looking for an opportunity there, though there’s obviously going to be a lot of competition. You’ve got to have that confidence and belief that you can break through.<\/p>\n
“Whenever a new manager comes in there’s a fresh start for everyone and I’ll look forward to getting back to the club after the Olympics and try my best to make an impact.<\/p>\n
“I’d never rule out another loan spell at Swansea,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We had great success last year to finish 11th in the Premier League and it would be stupid to rule out playing for a club of that ambition.<\/p>\n
“Swansea helped me massively last year, both as a player and an individual, and I’ve come a long way since I was first at the club. We made at a mark on the Premier League and it was great to be part of that.<\/p>\n
“Composure was a big part of our play last year as was the confidence to play out from the back,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Swansea’s style gave you the real belief that you were good enough with the players in front of you making good movements.<\/p>\n
“It helped me as a ball-playing defender and that’s something you need at a big club like Spurs.<\/p>\n
“It was a great year and one where I learned a lot.<\/p>\n
“I’ve had time away on loan as well at Yeovil and Bristol City and it’s all part of life experience as well and learning to grow up.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
