Michael Laudrup has hailed the signing of Michu as a fantastic one for the club<\/p>\n
The Swans completed the £2m capture of the midfielder yesterday – one stated in many quarters to be a bargain.<\/p>\n
“I looked at the big newspapers in Spain. The journalists and other people who are commenting are asking ‘How can you sell a player<\/span> like that for such a small amount of money?’. But the economic situation in Spanish football at the moment is really bad. It’s a difficult moment for them.<\/p>\n “I am very happy that we could bring Michu here because I think he will be a fantastic signing for us.<\/p>\n “We are talking about a player who scored 15 goals<\/span> in La Liga last season,” Laudrup added.<\/p>\n “And he did that for a small club who were saved from relegation by the bell on the last day of the season.<\/p>\n “He was a big part of keeping them up because of his goals, and to sign a player like that in a position where we have lost (Gylfi) Sigurdsson is fantastic for us.<\/p>\n “He can help the midfield players or play as a second striker,” the Dane explained. “You could even play him as the first forward in some games even though he is not the prototype for that position.<\/p>\n “His favourite position is second striker.
