Nathan Dyer believes that he can score more goals after opening his season with a brace at QPR<\/p>\n
He said: “I don’t think I have scored two in a game since I was about 12. I was really pleased to score and pleased with the chances I got. I was getting into the box and trying to hurt defenders.<\/p>\n
“I know can score goals – I’ve been scoring goals in training.<\/p>\n
“I didn’t really get the chance to come inside (last season) and I’m right footed playing on the right so when I do come inside I’m on my left.<\/p>\n
“This year the gaffer wants me to come inside more and get into the box, that’s benefited me and I’m pleased with that.<\/p>\n
“The manager reckons we’ll benefit from the wingers playing slightly closer to the striker and personally I agree. We can make runs and passes rather than being too far away.<\/p>\n
“It’s just a question of getting in the right areas and having confidence.<\/p>\n
“I need to make sure when we’re attacking I’m in that area because if you’re not in the right area you can’t score.<\/p>\n
“Michael was a great player in his time so the knowledge he’s going to bring to the team is going to be phenomenal.<\/p>\n
“We’ll learn from him, that’s what we’ve been doing in pre-season. We created a lot of chances against QPR and we took them.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
