Goalkeeper<\/strong><\/p>\n

Roger Freestone<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I played with Roger when I was in my last season at Swansea and he came on loan from Chelsea, he was top class.<\/p>\n

Without a doubt he could have played at the top level and he had a couple of opportunities, but he turned them down.<\/p>\n

Roger remains second in the list of all-time league appearances and, for longevity, he would have to be number one.<\/p>\n

Right-back<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wyndham Evans<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I had the pleasure of playing alongside Wyndham and he epitomised everything that was good about Swansea.<\/p>\n

He had that never-say-die attitude and wwas a big leader in the dressing room.<\/p>\n

When we needed someone to lift the dressing room he was always there.<\/p>\n

<\/em>Centre-back<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ashley Williams<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

His consistency is incredible and he is the type of player who rarely misses a training session, never mind a game.<\/p>\n

Ash has improved every season since he has been at the club and he’s now a top player in the Premier League and at international level with Wales.<\/p>\n

Centre-back<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Ante Rajkovic<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Had the touch of a midfielder but also the strength that made him a great defender.<\/p>\n

If he was playing nowadays I can only guess how much he would be worth because he had everything as you want from a player.<\/p>\n

Left-back<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dzemal ‘Jimmy’ Hadziabdic<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

‘Jimmy’ was one of the first foreign players to come to Swansea and his ability on the ball made him one of the best at the club.<\/p>\n

He was a right-footed player at left back but he could come inside or go out on to his weaker foot.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/p>\n

Robbie James<\/strong><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I’ve always said Robbie was the best player I ever played with at Swansea and he was a great friend of mine.<\/p>\n

He played such a big part in Swansea’s rise through the divisions and he was so proud to wear the white shirt.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Leon Britton<\/strong><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Whatever formation you play I think you have to find a place for Leon in midfield.<\/p>\n

He has been magnificent since he joined Swansea in League Two all those years ago.<\/p>\n

It says everything about Leon that he chose to drop down to Swansea in the first place and he is a credit to the club.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ivor Allchurch<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Midfield is probably the most hotly contested position in the XI but Ivor is the first name on the team sheet.<\/p>\n

He was that good he could he could have played anywhere and his goal record for Swansea speaks for itself.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leighton James<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I always thought he was a genius on the ball and it was hard to tell if he was right footed or left because he was so strong with either.<\/p>\n

Leighton could terrify defenders at the highest level and had a brilliant eye for goal.<\/p>\n

Striker<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bob Latchford<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Bob was probably the best striker I have ever played with at club level.<\/p>\n

He had great ability and one was one of the most natural goal-scorers you would ever see.<\/p>\n

He was right up there with Ian Rush as the best of his generation and, although he wasn’t at Swansea that long, he is definitely in the XI.<\/p>\n

Striker<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cliff Jones<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Again, it’s not easy to narrow it down because there have been a lot of good forwards for Swansea over the years but at his best Cliff was one of the best in Europe if not the world.<\/p>\n

His best days probably came at Tottenham Hotspur but ability-wise he’s among Swansea’s best-ever players.<\/p>\n
