Fabianski was written off by some when he arrived at the club last summer from Arsenal but the Big Pole soon proved any of the doubters wrong and was one of the outstanding performers of last season not just at the Swans but in the Premier League as a whole.<\/p>\n
But he proved himself to be an inspirational signing and a string of clean sheets and incredible saves made him a firm favourite with the club which went a long way to earning him a new contract.<\/p>\n
Monk signed a second goalkeeper this summer with the arrival at the club of Kristoffer Nordfeldt as competition for Fabianski and it would have been just a big a boost to see Fab sign his new contract as it would have been to complete any of the four signings we have made this summer.<\/p>\n
