{"id":24894,"date":"2020-11-17T08:19:35","date_gmt":"2020-11-17T08:19:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.staging28.planetswans.co.uk\/?p=24894"},"modified":"2021-03-08T10:52:18","modified_gmt":"2021-03-08T10:52:18","slug":"dismiss-the-cooper-derby-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jackarmy.net\/wp67\/2020\/11\/17\/dismiss-the-cooper-derby-talk\/","title":{"rendered":"Dismiss the Cooper Derby talk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Once again we have the Twitter rumour mill being generated by the same desperate tweeters who are now linking Swansea manager Steve Cooper with the vacant Derby job &#8211; in my view you can dismiss it as soon as you read it.<\/p>\n<p>On one hand, you have a club in the top six having moved rapidly in the right direction over the past few years following relegation and playing some football that is right in line with your general philosophy.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand you have a side bottom of the table, clearly chasing the Premier League buck at all costs and making some poor decisions largely based around the signing of a former England captain at the end of his career who effectively said his best days were well behind him when he left the Premier League for MLS and then decided a move to Derby was the best thing.<\/p>\n<p>So it is somewhat of a surprise when you read that Cooper is being linked with a move to Derby.\u00a0 However, when you realise that the link is journalist Alan Nixon then there is no surprise and of course Derby would be interested but that doesn&#8217;t mean it is something that is about to happen.<\/p>\n<p>It still scares me how people turn to journalists and ask them questions and then hang on their every word.\u00a0 \u00a0Let alone a journalist who relies more on Twitter followers than the accuracy of his journalistic skills (skills being a loosely used term)<\/p>\n<p>Even when you read the replies like the one below it tells you the guy knows nothing about this but he is passing himself off to be full of knowledge and people are failing to read what is actually in front of him.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019m aware of the Cooper interest.
