Kris O’Leary could easily have seen his Under-23’s side open his managerial run with a win today but he had to be content with just a draw after Ipswich levelled against the run of play with a second half penalty.<\/p>\n
O’Leary’s youngsters missed a host of chances which would have given them a third successive victory but the manager was not getting too hung up on what could have been and was quick to look for the positives in the result.<\/p>\n
The Swans hit the post twice and saw the visiting keeper make several good saves to keep the score level but ultimately as well Ipswich also missed a first half penalty which was saved by Gould.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m happy with the performance and it\u2019s a good starting point,\u201d the under-23s coach said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought the boys put a real good shift in and did really well in certain aspects.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve asked for intensity in our play, especially with our pressing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve probably had enough chances there to win two games and could\u2019ve scored five or six goals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were times when we could\u2019ve been a little more patient and added a few more passes.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we were getting into the positions relatively easy with the balls down the wing. But then the players almost forgot about keeping the ball, so the other part of the game became quite scrappy.<\/p>\n
