Andre Ayew has one thing on his mind and that is helping the Swans back into the Premier League.\u00a0 He says it is what keeps him going and he firmly has his sights set on Brentford at Wembley on Saturday and the completion of that goal.<\/p>\n
Ayew has of course played for the Swans in the Premier League after two moves to the club but now he hopes it will be his goals that help secure the club a return to the top flight after a three year absence.<\/p>\n
The Ghanian captain is a play off scorer in both the last two campaigns and his delight at helping the side to the final was clear for all to see last night particularly his post match celebrations with the supporters that showed just what Swansea means to him.<\/p>\n
But he firmly believes that the job is not yet complete and won’t be until the Swans are back in the top flight as he explained to the club’s official website as the build up to the big game continued\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s very important to me to get this club back to the Premier League,<\/p>\n
\u201cI wake up every morning with that thought \u2013 it\u2019s always on my mind \u2013 and it\u2019s what keeps me going.<\/p>\n
\u201cFinals are not there to be played, they are there to be won.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a big prize on offer. We are one game away, and we have to be ready on that day.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want to win and give this city something big and enjoy this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n
Saturday’s game saw more than 3,000 fans return to the Liberty after a 14 month absence due to the Covid pandemic and Ayew was equally as quick to pay tribute to those that managed to secure tickets and the support that they showed the team on the night.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cIt felt great. It was an unbelievable feeling to get this win in front of our fans.<\/p>\n
\u201cI felt something special, even though it was only 3,000 fans, because it was booming.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thank them for their support because we really needed it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey played their part and we did ours, and in the end we are all happy. I\u2019m even happier that I\u2019ll see them at Wembley.<\/p>\n
