Gary Rowett, the Millwall manager, has said that he will work to find the right solutions as he prepares to lead his side into the Boxing Day clash at the Den following the postponement of the last game due to a Covid outbreak within his squad.<\/p>\n
The Swans yesterday confirmed they will be without two players for the Boxing Day clash after positive tests but Millwall’s preparations are less clear with Rowett last week confirming that positive cases within the first team and Under-23 squad at one point were into double figures throwing any plans he may have had into disarray.<\/p>\n
After closing down their training ground last week, Rowett admitted that he had less than 10 players to train with on Tuesday and, with training facilities closed last week, they needed to devise different training programs and routines to fit players differing circumstances.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re quite experienced in that now, unfortunately, in difficult preparations because we\u2019ve had it before,\u201d Rowett told\u00a0NewsAtDen<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was around January with the Coventry game when we had players coming back from Covid and clearly there was a physical deficiency in the performance and in the players.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019ve got certain players that will have had symptoms and not have been able to do too much training remotely. Some players will be able to do a little bit of training and perhaps be in a better position with no symptoms.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just a blend, you have to take it day by day and prepare the ones that are ready and okay and can get that training volume.<\/p>\n \u201cTo be honest, you probably have to lean towards those players more than the ones that have had Covid and will have been out for 10 days, because at least you know physically what you\u2019re going to get.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is a challenge, it is a massive disruption. But we\u2019re very fortunate in football so I\u2019m always mindful of whinging too much about it.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll get on with it and we\u2019ll try to find the right solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n
