{"id":52776,"date":"2022-01-13T22:10:52","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T22:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging28.planetswans.co.uk\/?p=52776"},"modified":"2022-01-13T22:46:52","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T22:46:52","slug":"fans-to-be-allowed-back-into-welsh-stadiums-in-two-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jackarmy.net\/wp67\/2022\/01\/13\/fans-to-be-allowed-back-into-welsh-stadiums-in-two-weeks\/","title":{"rendered":"Fans to be allowed back into Welsh stadiums within the next two weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The latest Covid review in Wales will see fans finally allowed back into sports stadiums under plans from the First Minister to amend the restriction level from two to zero.<\/p>\n<p>It is being reported that the restrictions will be lifted in two weeks and \u00a0follows mounting pressure from opposition parties demanding an exit plan, and falling case numbers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i85\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-17j9f6r-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">The Welsh government said the success of the booster campaign meant it was able to lift restrictions, with 1.8 million having received an extra dose.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i85\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-17j9f6r-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">The Welsh Conservatives accused the Welsh Labour government of having overreacted to Omicron after tighter restrictions were brought in on 26 December.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i85\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-17j9f6r-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">First Minister Mark Drakeford will announce the details of the plan, following the latest review of Covid rules, at a press conference at Friday lunchtime.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i85\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-17j9f6r-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">However, the Welsh government said the move to ease measures would depend on the public health situation continuing to improve.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i85\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-17j9f6r-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Mr Drakeford will set out plans to move from alert level two to alert level zero by the end of the month, which would allow nightclubs to reopen and would see social distancing in businesses scrapped.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i85\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-17j9f6r-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Under Wales&#8217; previous alert level zero rules, all businesses were allowed to open to the public with no restrictions on numbers at events.<\/p>\n<p>The news is bound to be welcomed by all sports teams in Wales amongst other businesses and should mean that the first fixture back in front of crowds at the Swansea.com is likely t be the rearranged game against Luton Town on February 1st.<\/p>\n<p>A government statement issued on Thursday night said: &#8220;Mark Drakeford will set out the two-week plan to ease the alert level two restrictions which have been in place since Boxing Day at his press conference.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Welsh Government is able to start removing the protections put in place in response to the Omicron wave, thanks to the support of people across Wales and the successful booster campaign \u2013 more than 1.75m people have had the extra booster dose.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The move to alert level zero will be phased, with restrictions on outdoor activities being removed first.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The latest Covid review in Wales will see fans finally allowed back into sports stadiums under plans from the First Minister to amend the restriction level from two to zero.
