Ipswich Town are ‘seriously considering’ a second Charlton Athletic bid for midfielder Scott Fraser who has been a reported target for the Swans in the January window.<\/p>\n
The Addicks had a first bid turned down at the start of the weekend but have now returned to Portman Road with an offer that is now under consideration by Ipswich as they consider whether to release the player who only signed for them back in the summer.<\/p>\n
Fraser has yet to feature under new manager Kieran McKenna, having struggled with injuries of late and it is looking increasingly unlikely he will remain at Portman Road past the deal.<\/p>\n
Nothing has been reported of any definite bids from the Swans although he could be another that falls into the category of the Swans needing to see exits from the club before they could progress any move.<\/p>\n
Fraser of course played under Swans boss Russell Martin at MK Dons with Fraser full of praise for the boss last season when he commented shortly after a poor run of form about the support he got from Martin and his staff.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve things off the pitch that I\u2019m not really happy with at the moment. I think when you’re happy, you play your best football and I really appreciate their support. I spoke to them the other day and had a good chat about things that are going on. I hope that will bring back my best form.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been tough for everyone, these lockdowns but it’s really tough being so far from my friends and family \u2013 it\u2019s not easy. Everything is good when things are going well, scoring and assisting, but it says a lot about the staff when things aren’t going well. \u00a0It could be easy for them to think I\u2019m not playing well.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ipswich boss McKenna said, shortly after the first bid was received\u00a0\u201cAs far as I\u2019m concerned he\u2019s part of the planning. He\u2019s not been able to get on the pitch during my time here so far but it\u2019s only been five weeks or so. He\u2019s had a little injury in that time and we\u2019ve had games called off by Covid, too.<\/p>\n
