Cameron Congreve has agreed his first professional contract with the club after making two appearances in the match day squads in the home games against Coventry and Fulham.<\/p>\n
The midfielder didn’t come off the bench but the fact he has been included ahead of the likes of Yan Dhanda suggests that Russell Martin has seen enough of Congreve to offer him a place amongst the substitutes.<\/p>\n
A creative goalscoring midfielder, Congreve is 18 years old and hails from Blaenau Gwent and has impressed developing through the ranks including the under 23 squad this season.<\/p>\n
He has signed until 2024 with the option to extend the deal a further twelve months.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m delighted, I\u2019m absolutely buzzing to be honest, it\u2019s what I\u2019ve been working towards for many many years and it\u2019s nice that I\u2019ve finally got here, and I get to sign my first professional contract,” Congreve told the Official Site.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was over the moon to be involved in the matchday squads. I was absolutely buzzing when I found out about being in the squad for the Coventry game, I didn\u2019t expect it to happen at all, it kind of just came out of the blue.”<\/p>\n
