{"id":6566,"date":"2020-07-26T11:51:26","date_gmt":"2020-07-26T10:51:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.staging28.planetswans.co.uk\/?p=6566"},"modified":"2020-07-26T11:51:26","modified_gmt":"2020-07-26T10:51:26","slug":"the-liberty-stadium-site-circa-1993","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jackarmy.net\/wp67\/2020\/07\/26\/the-liberty-stadium-site-circa-1993\/","title":{"rendered":"The Liberty Stadium Site circa 1993"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are always interested to see back over time th changing face of Swansea and were delighted when this picture of the Liberty Stadium site appeared on social media yesterday showing an aerial view of the site in 1993.<\/p>\n<p>It is clearly unrecognisable from the stadium and retail park that currently takes over the site and of course the area where McDonalds now is.\u00a0 The old grass area which was where the Liberty was built is still clear to see as is the old Morfa Stadium which was demolished to make room for the retail park in the early years of this century.<\/p>\n<p>The picture was initially posted on Facebook and we shared it on Twitter which generated some interesting comments and memories from our followers<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hard to remember the old Morganwg stadium now. Remember training with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/swanseaharriers?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@swanseaharriers<\/a> from the stadium out through the slag tips!
