Roberto has given the squad a three day break after a gruelling schedule of 17 games in 64 days ended with the 2-1 victory over Oldham at the weekend.\u00a0 And with a ten point lead in the bag, Roberto feels it’s only fair that his squad should be given the break and Bauza is taking the opportunity to go back home and relax for a few days after the best spell of his Swansea career.<\/p>\n
Bauza was nominated for the player of the month award for League One as a result of his recent performances and a man of the match performance on Saturday changed the game in Swansea’s favour as they looked to be running out of steam against their visitors Oldham.<\/p>\n
“It’s nice to have no match for a few days because we have been playing two times a week since before Christmas,” Bauza told the Evening Post. “It’s nice to have some time to switch off a bit, to stop thinking about football and think about ourselves for a couple of days.<\/p>\n
“I have not seen my family since before Christmas so, if I can get good flights, I’ll be going home to Majorca.<\/p>\n
“It will be good to be able to wish them a happy new year, and it will also be good to get refreshed and grab some power for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n
“When I talk with my friends and my old team-mates back in Spain, they can’t understand it,” Bauza added.<\/p>\n
“If they had played as many games as we have, their season would be over. And yet we are only two-thirds of the way through the season with the most important part still to go.<\/p>\n
“They talk to me about playing too many games and getting tired in Spain, but I tell them to stop moaning.”<\/p>\n
“Since November or December I’ve felt I’ve been getting into good form,” he said.<\/p>\n
“It’s not just the physical side of football over here, it’s everything about the game. But I think I’ve adapted to that and I hope I am helping the team.<\/p>\n
“I’m getting used to playing with great players like Robbo, like Britton, like Ferrie, like Tom Butler and like Jason.<\/p>\n
“I’m enjoying playing with them and I’m enjoying everything I’m doing on the pitch.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
