Talks have started over a new deal for Swans boss Russell Martin as he edges towards the second half of his three year deal.<\/p>\n
It’s been nearly 18 months since Martin left the roundabouts of Milton Keynes for SA1 and there have been plenty of ups and downs in that time.<\/p>\n
Last season was a disappointment certainly in terms of the final league position although there is optimism at least that there will be improvement on that in this campaign.<\/p>\n
The Swans are well positioned close to the play off places ahead of the full resumption of Championship football this weekend and the visit of Norwich City will provide a good test of where the team is.<\/p>\n
Martin told the BBC: “I will end up where I end up.<\/span><\/p>\n “People ring me all the time and say you are linked with this job or that, what are you thinking? I don’t care about that. It’s not on my radar.<\/span><\/p>\n “I would never come out and say I am going to be here for 10 years – I don’t know what’s going to happen.<\/span><\/p>\n “But if I am still here in 10 years and still enjoying it as much as I am now, I would be happy with that – and I don’t think that’s a lack of ambition.<\/span><\/p>\n “I think the biggest ambition you can have is to love what you are doing every day, because that’s not easy to attain.
