Both Steve Tilson and his assistant Paul Brush have stated that they need the player to make a decision sooner rather than later with Brush wanting a decision within a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n
"An offer has been made to Mark Gower and we've got to try and pull that together now over the next couple of weeks." Brush told the official Southend website<\/p>\n
"We need to set a deadline though otherwise we could be hanging on forever.<\/p>\n
"We need to know what we're looking for replacement-wise, so we'll need an answer from him pretty soon.<\/p>\n
"A good contract has been put in front of him and we hope he stays here to be a part of how we want to push on."<\/p>\n
Steve Tilson though was a little more direct in his comments and said he would be surprised if the player completed the move at this stage of his career <\/p>\n
"I've seen that Swansea have said they're interested and that's how it goes in football," Tilson said.<\/p>\n
"Mark's away on holiday in America at the moment and we will be talking to him when he gets back.<\/p>\n
