The club<br \/>\nwill update us if any investment is confirmed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The current ownership module &#8211; led by Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien &#8211; took over the club in 2016 and have attracted much criticism in that time not least for the way in which the purchase of the club was handled.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is the criticism over the daily management that has been the most noticeable with the only investment into the club since that takeover being the converted loan note from Jake Silverstein that was converted last year.<\/p>\n<p>It is not known who the investors are that the ownership group are speaking to nor is there any clue as to whether it is a significant investment that is being sought.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will be relentless in our determination to continually improve this club \u2013 and we have the financial resources to do so.\u00a0 \u00a0We will be competitive and we will outwork our opponents on the pitch and in the boardroom,\u201d were the words of Kaplan and Levien when they sealed the deal to buy a majority stake in Swansea City.<\/p>\n<div class=\"getty aligncenter\"><a id='6Lh3fj3cSTZr13_SjCsKDg' class='gie-single' href='http:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/1234682215' target='_blank' style='color:#a7a7a7;text-decoration:none;font-weight:normal !important;border:none;display:inline-block;'>Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'6Lh3fj3cSTZr13_SjCsKDg',sig:'N7b134XxrD-yPPAciLMG9ImPytgGvqcMvYIpnb2YBxQ=',w:'594px',h:'396px',items:'1234682215',caption: false ,tld:'com',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/div>\n<p>The introduction of Jake Silverstein to proceedings on the face of it appeared to be a positive sign and the early stages suggested that he would play a much more active part in the proceedings than his counterparts.\u00a0 \u00a0This much has probably been true but the criticism remains clear from large sections of the fanbase together with the frustrations that those operating day to day in SA1 appear to be undergoing.<\/p>\n<p>The club&#8217;s financial footing remains a difficult one to balance and the need to recoup some income through player sales is as evident now as it ever has been.\u00a0 That in turn does suggest that an investment is needed into the club so there is a definite need for these discussions to continue.<\/p>\n<p>The flip side is that any investment will almost certainly see the Trust&#8217;s share be diluted even further and the worrying aspect of the Trust statement is that they will be &#8220;told&#8221; when the investment is confirmed which backs up the belief that there is no consultation with the Trust over essential decisions any more.<\/p>\n<p>We await how this one may develop over the coming weeks and months and where this moves the ownership position of Swansea City to.<\/p>\n<div class=\"getty aligncenter\"><a id='868XGaMVRgh64tllHLlleg' class='gie-single' href='http:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/686430870' target='_blank' style='color:#a7a7a7;text-decoration:none;font-weight:normal !important;border:none;display:inline-block;'>Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'868XGaMVRgh64tllHLlleg',sig:'LbFmseAk97tuvO5nMFIlwQLMW6Hs11B78fb5kQ1q6R0=',w:'594px',h:'359px',items:'686430870',caption: false ,tld:'com',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Swansea City owners are in talks with potential new investors into the football club although it has been confirmed that there is no confirmed new investment received as yet.
