Championship rivals are making their moves in a bid to strengthen their respective squads ahead of tonight’s 11pm deadline but all is eerily quiet at Swansea City.<\/p>\n
On a day where signings were desperately needed it seems there is precious little on the horizon meaning yet again no genuine right back or a back up goalkeeper after Steven Benda’s injury.<\/p>\n
Six players have departed this month but only Liam Smith – yet to be fully confirmed – had arrived today from Manchester City with the wideman set to go into the development squad initially.<\/p>\n
The only real positive is the news that Morgan Whittaker looks to be staying in SA1 as Rangers seemingly pulled out of the race to sign the former Plymouth loan player. Whether he will play as much as he should for the remainder ofnthe season is the next question and as always only time will tell.<\/p>\n
The Championship has been somewhat busy in the transfer market today and Luton for example have made a marquee signing with Marvelous Nakamba joining on loan from Aston Villa with Aaron Ramsey also leaving the Midlands club for Middlesbrough.<\/p>\n
All in all it paints a pretty dreary picture with less than four hours left of the transfer window and perhaps a penny for the thoughts of one Russell Martin this evening?<\/p>\n
