Russell Martin this morning spoke for the first time following the conclusion of a very dissatisfactory January transfer window which saw no senior first team player signed yet six depart.<\/p>\n
Throughout the month there was plenty of discussion around Morgan Whittaker and his move to Rangers which saw the Scottish giants come back with a number of bida all of which were rejected.<\/p>\n
That ultimately resulted in the forward remaining in South Wales despite the best attempts of Michael Beale and his team North of the border.<\/p>\n
Martin says Whittaker will be in the squad for tomorrow’s game against Birmingham City and reiterated that his relationship with the player is good.<\/p>\n
He told Wales Online: “Morgan’s back. The whole thing about Morgan, I’ve got a brilliant relationship with him.<\/p>\n
“I hope that\u2019ll show in the next three months. He understood why I wanted him to go out on loan and play football.<\/p>\n
“The amount of work Josh did to stay in contact with him and he\u2019s come back and not been frustrated with me,<\/p>\n
“I didn’t make the decision to call him back. Again, it\u2019s not in my control.<\/p>\n
“He\u2019ll be in the squad tomorrow. I\u2019ve had Rangers fans message me on linkedin saying let him go.<\/p>\n
“I apologised to them saying sorry I was crap at your club but it\u2019s not my decision.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
