Russell Martin has practically confirmed that left bsck Ryan Manning will leave at the end of his contract this summer after talks between the player and club have broken down.<\/p>\n
The defender signed from QPR in October 2020 and has become a mainstay in the team especially since Martin’s arrival but despite regular situations around his contract situations it seems nothing can or will be resolved.<\/p>\n
It’s another blow for fans after a miserable season with little hope of anything positive to come in the last 14 games and a January window without a single signing.<\/p>\n
It all paints a rather bleak picture and with Joel Latibeaudiere in a similar situation it does seem like a rebuild will be required this summer – something the manager says is already being discussed.<\/p>\n
Making another dig at those who make the decisions at the club, Martin told Wales Online: \u201cI love Ryan, he loves it here, but we\u2019ve allowed the contract to go to the last year, or not address it properly in the summer, so we\u2019re at where we\u2019re at.<\/p>\n
“I don’t think there\u2019s any point in keeping talking about that. He\u2019s not going to sign a contract here.<\/p>\n
“He\u2019s given us everything he\u2019s got, which is all we can ask for. He\u2019s got the right to go and see what\u2019s out there for him in the summer.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re exploring other options for that for next season already. It\u2019s what we have to do, we have to be ready. It\u2019ll be a real shame<\/p>\n
“The reality is now, you get past January and people think he may leave in January and you readdress the situation, but I don\u2019t think anything\u2019s changed from his end or his agent\u2019s end.<\/p>\n
