Speaking on local radio, he added: “I would really like to see people there who can take the club forward and hopefully climb back to a respectable position in the football league.”<\/p>\n
The former chairman spoke of the contradictions from current chairman Neil McClure and chief executive Mike Lewis regarding buying and loaning new players.<\/p>\n
“They are not speaking as a united or unified voice down at the Vetch,” said Hamer. Hamer said he believed McClure, acting on behalf of Ninth Floor shareholders, would put the club up for sale in a statement expected soon.<\/p>\n
“The players are good enough and the manager has won a championship so there’s nothing too wrong there. I think we can achieve results.<\/p>\n
“I am keeping a close interest on what happens down at the Vetch.<\/p>\n
“I don’t waver in my commitment to see the club enjoy success and it hurts me to see match reports when we have been beaten.<\/p>\n
“I have an interest and obviously if the club is put on the market that interest will be magnified.”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Swansea’s players are preparing for tomorrow night’s visit of Reading in the LDV Vans Trophy southern section quarter-final (7.45).
