After last night’s game, we stand four points adrift at the foot of the table and to tell you the truth the game in hand over Bristol Rovers means nothing to me – chances are that we will lose it anyway. AT this moment in time it would take a real optimist to see anything for this club other than Conference football next season.<\/p>\n
So what the hell can we do to get out of this mess. Well, for a start the players can stop blaming the fans. It p sses me off big style when I read the players saying “It doesn’t help when the fans etc etc” I have one response to that – PROFESSIONAL. Professional people should be able to block it out – most of the top names will tell you that they can and if Smith thinks the abuse he gets is bad – he should have tried being David Beckham after France 98?<\/p>\n
The simple fact is there are players that do not give two hoots about this football club. Take this one as fact but after we lost 0-4 at home to Kidderminster there were players laughing as they walked into the dressing room – the result was a joke to them. That’s right whilst most who witnessed the game (to jog a memory Kiddie eased off at 4 and still looked the better team) cried into their beer or the equivalent, those responsible were laughing. Memories of Peter Day and ‘thick Welshies’ comes into my head for some reason?<\/p>\n
The blame starts and stops now with the players and management. The supporters support (and by turning up that is classed as support) the directors direct (or whatever it is a director does) and the players play.<\/p>\n
Now last night I was out of Swansea on business and missed the game. So this evening I have read with interest the names of those that showed the passion for the cause last night and full credit to them. Sad part is I can predict that should we lose our next home game then some of the players being applauded today will be slated for not caring. It’s a 46 game season (21 to go) and not a 45 minute season (as some of our pros believe)<\/p>\n
I’m sorry but I find it hard to believe now that we are heading anywhere but down. Talk of York going out of business won’t save us as we’ll finish bottom and at this moment in time it will be by less than 20 points – did someone mention country mile.<\/p>\n
The club has taken 20 years to fall from grace but also think of this. May 6th 2000. Rotherham 1-1 Swansea. Two sides celebrating promotion, the away team a championship. And look at the difference between the two now.<\/p>\n
