Hollins Out, Board Out!

But I’m sorry, 5-1 to Walsall is not an acceptable result. The board need to decide to invest or to leave (and there will be somebody who buys the team). The manager must go, if only to inject a bit of excitement and passion into evrything again, and several of our senior professionals must take a long hard look at themselves and ask the question, am I’m doing the best that I can or am I coasting in the knowledge that people will blame the manager and the owners.

All of us on this forum, love the team. We have been bought up loving the team, or have converted for our disparate reasons. Everyone connected with Swansea City Football Club is letting us down at the moment. To those of you who own the club – this is not just a business.

Speaking as someone who runs a business, I understand that money is an important factor, obviously, but owning a football club is about more than money. It is only the Man Utds of this world that will ever make money, the rest of the clubs are run out of love and passion.

You will not make money from the Morfa development, you will not be allowed to do so. So please, get rid of the club. Cut your losses now and step aside for someone who is prepared to spend money on something they love – the Swans. Take any acceptable bid in the knowledge that you are losing a vast amount each year and it is false economy to hang on for a slightly increased price.

For Mike Lewis, please understand that you must leave the club – you have antagonised too many groups of supporters, who may be ‘Welsh and thick’ but are not thick enough that they can’t see through you.

For John Hollins – you may be a nice man and a good coach, but you are too scared to be in the position that you are in. A good manager at this level must be prepared to gamble – gamble on bringing in signings that are not proven, or world-class. Some of them will fail, and the supporters may have a go – but some of them will succeed and the supporters will love you for it. For the players – some of you are on good money, upwards of ร‚ยฃ50k – ร‚ยฃ100k per year.

That makes you the best paid people in Swansea, an area where there is not a lot of wealth but a lot of pride and passion – please show a bit of pride and passion yourselves – we want the people who play for our beloved team to ensure that they are not embarrased by teams that by virtue of their population size and history should not be able to live with us.

I love the Swans, have done so since I was first taken by my Grandfather aged about 7 or 8 and I will always love them. Everyone on these forums feels the same.

Please respect those of us who feel like this and stop ruining our dreams. Board out, Hollins out.
