Walker has decided to return to his native Scotland with his family after his tenure at Merthyr ends. Walker, who has led his side to an FAW Premier Cup semi-final against The Swans, is apparently due to take up a job as a policeman or a fire officer. The tie at the Vetch will prove a last good-bye to the Vetch Field faithful for the highly rated defender.

He will be replaced as Merthyr boss by another ex-Swan John Lewis.
