Around 4,300 turned up for this key match at the Vetch. Boyd and Savarese started as promised after their demolition of Wycombe in the last 20 mins of their previous match. The first half had very few chances but title contenders Rotherham has 70% of the possesion but were unable to break through resolute defending especially by Price who was really developed into an excellent defender despite prefering the midfield role. The 2nd half started more promisingly however when Walter Boyd was pulled down in the area by Rotherham’s keeper. However Bound’s penalty effort clipped the top of the keepers arm and skied over the bar. It’s the sort of luck that has helped us to our relegated plight, but fair do’s the players didn’t give up and with some vocal support from the NB the team put together 20 mins of delightful football, only for Rotherham’s keeper to make 2 good saves and out of charachter Savarese missed a header from 2 yards out putting the ball wide. Stu Roberts came on with 20 mins to go but despite all the effort the Swans found it difficult to break down a resolute defence. Apologies for the delay and the rather short & unimpressive Match Report but family matters had to take a priority.
