Smudger Profile

Smudger joined the Swans shortly after winning the FA Vase with Tiverton Town for a nominal fee of £10,000, started as a youth player with Coventry but never made the grade. After giving up on professional football Jason joined the part-timers whilst working in a pharmacy. Smudger is a quality defender, good in the air, rarely beaten on the floor except by pure pace.

• 1999/2000 Part of the dynamic duo with Mathew Bound, often overshadowed by Bound in praise but in my opinion was the better of the defenders with much better distribuiton.
• 2000/2001 Been plagued by injury this season only completing 18 matches. Looked the only defender who could cope with life in Div.2 hopefully an injury free season next season will guarantee a lot more success.
