Profile

You can’t imagine where the Swans would be without Roger. The mainstay of the team, the rock upon which all else is built. Great shot stopper, and has excellent abilities at gathering crosses and his love for Swansea is unsurpassed.

Roger started his career at his hometown club of Newport Co. but his abilities were quickly recognised and was snapped up by Chelsea.

After 30+ appearances new management took a disliking to Roger and the Swans snapped him up for a mere £95,000 after an initial loan period.

Roger for the 96-97 season was the teams penalty taker and scored all 3 penalties.

  • 1999/2000 Somehow the Div 3 select team omitted Roger from what has to have been his best season ever (which is hard!). Mr. Dependable. His form brought him up for his first Welsh Cap against Brazil of all team. Undetered another sterling performance limited the score to only a 3-0 defeat when a lesser Gk could have conceeded 10.
  • 2000/2001 This season was hard on Roger, with a defence leaking goals like a burst water main, Roger was never in a position to stop the rot. His frustrations were obvious when Roger recieved his first professional red card in the LDV match against Brentford. On a lighter note however it was annonced that the club was to honour Roger with a testimonial season in 2001/02 which will one of the few ways we can repay our gratitude to a brilliant club servant.
