TJ: Do you think you can see a day, before the Vetch closes, when Mike Lewis will be taking to the terraces for a match?
ML: Yeah. At heart, I’m a supporter of Newport County. I’m not going to pretend to be a Swans fanatic. I love this club because I work at it. I see ambition here, I see development here, and while I’m here I’ll do all I can to achieve that, but I’d be lying if I said I was a Swansea fan through and through. Newport County’s my first and only love in that respect, I was a terrace supporter there. But yeah, I certainly will. I don’t think I would like to go up there alone, I’d probably like to go there with some other guys. TJ: Do you find the North Bank as an institution with it’s very vocal fans a big plus or minus to the club? ML: It’s brilliant! I wish we had more of them. Why shouldn’t they voice their opinions? I know there are areas in which we are deficient, John will be the first to admit that we haven’t quite delivered the goods to the home crowd. Why should we have the arrogance to criticise people who have got an opinion, they voice that collectively by singing and chanting. |
