The Evening Post report that he has bought the club shop and the car park from previous club owners Ninth Floor. We also understand this to be the case and now we have to wait and see what happens.
Everyone will have their own guesses as to what comes next and all we can say at the moment is watch this space as something is brewing. Tony Petty was clearly upset by Mel’s decision to resign as he spent the afternoon enjoying a round of golf at Pennard and we also hear that he may have plans to attend Sunday’s trust meeting. Sad part is, he can’t as I believe the meeting is for members only.
Speaking to Phil Dillon at the Post, Nurse said “I told Mr Petty and Mr Shuttleworth that I did not feel comfortable with their actions but I had to take a back seat because I was a director. But I knew nothing about those decisions they made regards the players. I have a season ticket so I will continue to watch the Swans. I love the club, but I don’t know what the future holds for Swansea City. What I have done I have done to safeguard the survival of the club but I am sad to have to make this decision”
We can surely all agree with Mel that we want to see the future of the club safeguarded and we have to trust that this is done for the right reasons. What those reasons are you will find out pretty soon I guess.
Can we now say Sack the Board?
