Don’t trust him. Don’t trust him at all – that is the message that I would send to fans who are even half thinking about taking up the offer of a discounted season ticket to get your 10,000 free (worthless) shares.
Despite some feeling to the contrary, this is of no benefit to the fans and, despite being no expert on this matter, Swansea City could end up owing Tony Petty money when he then offers shares in return for an investment of รยฃ250.
Yes, of course the shares that go as part of owning a season ticket are free but they are also worthless. The shares have no value whatsoever and are not listed on any of the market prices. If I said “Give me รยฃ100 and I’ll give you a worthless piece of paper” would you take me up on that offer? If you would, then please ring me on….. (only kidding)
This is another way of Petty trying to make the fans think that he is OK. He knows he has no backing, bar a few that won’t get the respect of others and who are desperately trying to link other names to this.
Kevin Johns was one of those people and having spoken to him at Roger’s book signing tonight, he is livid. He doesn’t want to be part of Petty’s fans board anymore than I do but others spread his name around. It’s a dangerous game trying to link bigger names to something like this and those that do it will not be forgiven nor thanked for doing so.
Petty is in this for himself not for us and certainly not for the club. And the latest share offer is nothing more than an empty gesture. Trust him at your peril, I know I won’t be opening talks with him.
