It has been revealed tonight that Mel Griffin and his consortium have pulled out of the deal to take control of Swansea City after being unable to agree terms with Tony Petty for the sale of the football club.
Griffin had hoped to reveal his takeover within the last day or so but has found dealing with the Cockney one a bit of a handful and today, after being in Swansea, has decided that enough is enough and that the deal now appears dead.
This of course presents us with a major headache? Where do we go from here? The real option appears to be Mel Nurse and his consortium – will Petty now deal with them? There could also be them two Palestinians and of course the threat of liquidation still looms large over the football club.
Whatever happens, if Petty is being awkward then he is going to have to change his ways if he wants to take the sale of this club right through to it’s conclusion.
Swansea City remains, very much, a club in crisis.
