Matthew Bound has had his loan spell extended at Oxford for a further month with Matthew still looking for a permanent deal to keep him there. Bound, who has already stayed at the Kassam for one month is hopeful that he can agree terms with the club but this may not happen until later in the week.
The reason for the current loan deal is that Oxford wanted Bound available for tonight’s game with Torquay and this move ensures that he is.
Meanwhile, a seething Colin Addison has placed disciplinary measures on Mamady Sidibe who was due back to Swansea last week but as yet has not returned. Sidibe however is expected to return tomorrow and if fit, could feature against John Hollins’ Rochdale at the weekend.
Addison told the official site ” Mama will be fined, according to the Club’s disciplinary rules,” confirmed Addison. ” He had a domestic problem at home, and because he was unavailable through injury, he had special dispensation to return to France to sort things out, on the condition that he received treatment while he was there. ” Mama was expected back in Swansea last Monday (January 14th), but as yet, he has still not returned, and he has not contacted anyone within the Club to explain why. ” I have spoken several times with his agent, and yesterday, he assured me that Mama will return on Wednesday, and we will then be able to assess the likelihood of him being available for the weekend. ” I also informed him that the player will be fined, in accordance with the Club’s disciplinary procedures.”
Swansea faced a similar position with Walter Boyd last season and Sidibe is the latest in a series of foreign stars who seem to enjoy the benefits of going AWOL. A cynic could easily say that any fine imposed on Sidibe will be irrelevant with Petty still effectively in charge, the likelihood of him being paid anyway is quite remote!!
