Planet Swans ArchivesI am pleased to confirm that I have today given my future shareholding to Swansea City Supporters Trust.
The agreement between consortium members guarantees a Board seat in return for a minimum investment of £50,000. The supporters trust has been guaranteed a place on the board of Swansea City AFC Ltd in the expectation that it achieves the £50,000 by 31st March.For the time being the trust’s position is secure, however, it essential that the trust achieve the minimum investment level if they are to play an active part in the running of the club in the long term.
With my shares the trust now has a £40,000 interest in the club. I urge all Swansea fans to support the trust fully, if you are not a member then join, if you are a member then make a donation. The Trust needs to make the £50,000 minimum requirement by 31st March.
The trust has to act in the best interests of its members at all times.It is a democratic institution and officials are elected annually.The only way in which fans can have a long-term stake in the future of this football club is via the trust.We came very close to losing this club for good ten days ago, so let’s all make sure that we never find ourselves in that position again.
