A Blast From The Past

This season has not had many memorable moments, but one which will always stick in my mind, and boy I enjoyed it, was seeing Mike Lewis taking a kicking outside the Harry Griffiths bar. The look of fear on his face is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Some people may call me sick, twisted, but believe me, Mike Lewis gave Swansea City Football Club his own little kicking, and what he got that Saturday afternoon, was a little revenge from SCFC.

Mike Lewis is the man who presented us with Tony Petty. He is the man robbed us, laughed at us, banned kids from coming to watch the Swans at the Vetch, not to mention a whole host of other things, and now he wants ร‚ยฃ80,000 which he is apparently owed by the club. The man defies belief.

So this brings me nicely onto Chris Connolly. The man who wants to takeover the Swans. The very fact that Mike Lewis has come out publicly and backed this man is enough to put me off straight away. I was sitting at home watching the news when, horror of horror’s, Mike Lewis’ mug appears on the screen. ( I swear to god that if Mike Lewis went into a Horror House he’d come out with a pay cheque!!)

What a co-incidence. We find out that Mike Lewis is backing a potential investor, and the next thing we know, he is claiming he is owed ร‚ยฃ80,000 by the club. Very good Mike. I think Mike Lewis needs to realise he still has some hard questions to answer to regarding the sale of the club to Tony Petty, which the board desperately need to speak to him about. One thing I will give Tony Petty, he went, and he hasn’t come back, while Lewis seems to pop up more than the ads on this site!

Whether Mike Lewis is owed ร‚ยฃ80,000 is open to debate. I doubt it very much. He is doing his usual thing and trying it on. I wouldn’t give Mike Lewis the steam off my piss, let alone eighty grand.

Anyway, Chris Connolly claims he faxed the Vetch twice in regards to taking over the club. The club has responded to this saying “His comments in the media regarding him making contact directly with the club are completely untrue”. So here we go again, someone is lying, as usual.

I wouldn’t trust Connolly. He has Lewis’ backing, which puts me off straight away. Also, he has stated that he will not throw his money away! Eh Chris, I hate to disappoint you, but there are debts of ร‚ยฃ1.7m here, also a decrepit squad which needs major investment. Funny though how everyone interested in taking us over mentions the Morfa Stadium. I think we should be very wary of Mr Connolly.

In terms of a takeover, what we need is a fully committed investor. Someone who will clear the debts straight away and put money into improving the squad. Someone who is willing to take a gamble, not someone who talks all this crap like Lewis and Connolly do. People may wonder why the fans are so paranoid, and wary of people. Well this is because the fans of Swansea City have been shat on from a great height for years and years. Is there any wonder why some fans stop coming to games. They are probably sick to death of the way this club has been run, and have given up hope.

Nothing surprises me anymore. I was asked last week what I thought of the Addison and Nicholas saga, my answer was simple, “NOTHING surprises me anymore”. Just how long all this is going to go on for is worrying. I pray that we don’t go into next season with the same problems we’ve got now. The squad is going to be reduced quite considerably. You can give your opinion on who goes on who stays by clicking HERE.

Well, that’s enough of off the field problems. Believe it or not, there was a football match taking place. Last Saturday we entertained 3rd place Mansfield. A team who had won 21 games so far this season rarely threatened the Swans goal, and a 2-0 win was well deserved. I was surprised to see Romo on the pitch; I don’t think anyone quite knew what had happened to him. He scored a very good goal though, shooting from 20 yards out into the corner of the net. It was nice to get revenge for the drubbing we received from them up at Field Mill.

So the season is drawing to a close, only a few games left, and what a turbulent season it’s been so far. One which none of us will forget in a hurry. Let’s just hope that the CVA runs smoothly, and we can clear this debt. Maybe then a serious investor will come in, and we can start looking to the future, and hopefully promotion next season.
