Bradford, we understand, offered James a three years contract reputedly worth more money but such is his desire to ‘return home’ James has waited patiently and will now commit pen to paper and become a Jack for next season.
The name of James Thomas has long been associated with the club by fans but this is the first time that the club has moved to sign the player and you must commend anyone for not being completely motivated by money.
Thomas is not only highly rated by Nick Cusack, Wales Under-21 boss Jimmy Shoulder has also been singing his praises "James is a physically strong boy who has a big heart and always gives 100 per cent – the type of player every manager would want" he told the Evening Post.
"He has had a good apprenticeship at a big club, has been on loan at places like Sheffield United and West Brom and has a lot of Wales Under 21 experience" (Shoulder capped Thomas a record 21 times at this level)
"James has not looked like a Craig Bellamy, an Alan Shearer or a John Hartson who will get you 25 goals a season but there is no doubt that he can be a success at Swansea if he gets off to a good start. He will always get into scoring positions, create chances for others and no doubt get his fair share of goals"
Good testament indeed for the home grown lad – let’s hope that the predicitions come true.
