Home >Story Index> Thoughts On Next Season

Regulars to this site will remember that we did this last season and it has proved popular so we have decided to bring it back this season for you all to cast your opinions on who should stay and who should go.
As we know, all the playing and management team, with the exception of Andrew Mumford, are on deals that expire this summer. Some of them we know will be offered new deals at the clubs while others will find themselves looking for new employment.
It is interesting to see exactly who you voted for this time last year and the fact that 94% of people voted last time for Steve Watkin to be one of 16 names that they would retain at the club – will that be the same this time? This year, is slightly different in that we are not putting a limit to how many players you should retain. The answer for each player is a simple Keep or Release.
We have divided the players into two categories. Those that are permanent members of the Vetch staff and those that are here on loan until the end of the season. Naturally, I would expect some of those to have 100% (almost) retain viting but you never know.
Also this time, it is not just your opinion of players that we have asked you to provide but also the three man management team. Do they deserve more time as a trio or would they work better if we replaced one, two or all three of them. It’s your vote that makes the opinion so let’s hear it.
I have anticipated comments on this article of “we don’t need this at this time” – I don’t agree. The people that have asked me to do this now have decided that an opinion is interested and let’s face it – it is an opinion of a small cross section of the fans (last year 116 people voted) – I will be perfectly honest in my opinion on this – if that small a cross section causes a player to play badly then I strongly suggest that he is in the wrong profession.
