Home >Story Index> We’re The Famous Swansea City And……………

Two defeats over the Bank Holiday weekend and the clear, sunny skies were soon replaced with the stormy clouds of relegation. The aftermath of Monday’s defeat at the hands of Exeter was too hard for some to comprehend, the faces of many people in the Harry Griffiths bar were etched with pain, misery and utter despair and for some it was just to much to cope with. Some reacted with anger, others were in tears. But for most, stunned silence was the most they could manage.

The backlash that followed on this (and other sites) was understandable. Criticism of the players, the management and even the club was commonplace for the 48 hours that followed the Exeter game. It’s all too easy to wallow in the misery that we all felt only three short days ago, we can just sit in our living rooms and watch the world cave in around us and that way we can stand back and watch Swansea City Football Club pass into Football League history the same way as so many other famous names.

BUT!!!……………………….we’re jacks and we won’t allow that to happen!!! Go and take a look at the League table at the top of the message board, go on, do it now!!!

Did you notice something about it that caught my eye? We’re in the same position that we were on Monday morning are’nt we???!!! Would we rather be in 22nd position or perhaps we’d feel better in 23rd or even 24th? Our destiny is in our own hands and i’m sure that any of the teams below us would gladly swap places with us.

This fight is FAR from over and we’ll fight it until 4:50pm on Saturday May 3rd. We have 3 hours of football to show the rest of the country what we’re all made of, 180 minutes to sing our hearts out for the lads, 10800 seconds of pure JACK passion that will show the rest of the League that we’ve been knocked down but we’re getting back up!!!

We’re gonna fight til’ the end and we’re never giving up. Our TEAM has the TALENT to survive, our FANS have the PASSION to survive and they’ll both be at Rochdale on Saturday to prove it.

A lot of us have seen the highs and lows that being a Swans fan is all about, but nothing will compare to the next 9 days. It’s time for everyone to stand up and be counted, it’s time for everyone to face up to their responsibilities. United we stand or divided we will fall.

I have faith in everyone connected with this great club of hours, the Board, the management, the staff and the fans to stand up in the face of adversity and see this fight through to the bitter end. Swansea City Football Club are still in the League and we’re not going ANYWHERE!!!

WHO ARE WE??????????????

“WE’RE THE FAMOUS SWANSEA CITY AND WE’RE STAYING IN THE LEAGUE!!!”
