Press release from Swansea City Football Club:
“We have long recognised that the importance of attracting a new generation of Swans fans is vitally important to the future well-being of Swansea City Football Club. With so many options available to them, we know that we have to provide value for money, not only to attract children to the Vetch Field but to keep them coming back once they’ve tasted the legendary atmosphere created by the Swans fans.
“With this is mind, we are delighted to be able to confirm details of an exciting new offer aimed at attracting youngsters to the club on a matchday to support their local Football League club rather than getting their regular fix of football through Sky Sports! The 12 match season-ticket offer introduced last season proved extremely popular, but thanks to the ‘Western Mail’ it’s just got even better! We’ve teamed up with them to provide 1,000 12 match season-tickets for children priced at just £25 – That’s just £2 per game!!!!

“The 12 match ticket for under-12s can be used for either the North Bank or the East Terrace so you can decide on the day where you want to watch the game from, and offers great savings on matchday admission – 12 games for £25 compared to £72 if you paid on the gate! The reduced price 12 match season-tickets are available on a first come, first served basis and are strictly limited to just 1,000 – demand is certain to be high so make sure you get yours now, before they sell out!

“What’s more, we are now offering a matchday family ticket for the East Stand which also offers substantial savings to the regular price. Adult admission to the East Stand is £14, children £8 – With the family tickets, one adult and two children costs £27, whilst one adult and three children costs just £30, a saving of £8.00! All family tickets must be purchased from the Club Shop”

(Normal price of a child 12 match season-ticket is £60)

Press Release Date: 3rd June 2003

NB – We are also told that next week will see details of the VP club next week. The cost of this will be £150 with the stipulation that applicants must be a centre stand season ticket holder.
