The report claims that the long distance move to Swansea and also the prospect of dropping down a division are not high on Trundle’s want-list Wrexham assistant manager Kevin Russell is also quoted as saying “We’ve got an excellent chance of keeping him. Lee’s the type of lad who enjoys living in Liverpool – he’s a bit of a home bird. I can’t see a move to Swansea happening.” |
Trundle is also believed to have been offered vastly improved terms by Wrexham in a bid to make him stay with the newly promoted Dragons. Flynn though remains hopeful and is also aware that Wrexham boss Denis Smith has also lined up a contingency plan should Trundle decide to move south. |
It has proved a somewhat eventful close season for Trundle. On the day that Wrexham won promotion to the second division, Trundle was arrested on suspicion of rape. However the claims were soon dropped after claims that the accuser was indeed stalking Trundle and he is now clear of all allegations surrounding this incident. |
However, it appears that Trundle could well be happy enough to stay in Wrexham and help spearhead their assault on the second division – especially now they have lost Andy Morrell to Coventry during the close season. And if the reports are to be believed then Flynn will have to turn his attentions elsewhere. |
Meanwhile, another Swansea target, Chris Llewellyn has today been released by Norwich City. “I have enjoyed my time at Norwich but I want to play first team football. Although it was a hard decision to make I hope it will work out for the best for me.” |
Flynn had been hopeful of signing him although rumours surfacing on the internet seem to suggest that we may lose out to either QPR or Bristol Rovers in the race for the Swansea born striker. |
