Boston >>> Boston United are in danger of becoming homeless the club have applied for planning permission to demolish its York Street ground and replace it with a housing development, but no application has been made for a new stadium. The council wanted both applications submitted at the same time. The chairman has not commented yet.

Bristol Rovers >>> Boss Ray Graydon said his defenders were in disarray and “not at the races” in their game against Preston, Rovers lost 6 – 3, Graydon said “There was no excuse for our defending, and I now know I have two weeks to get them right.”

Bury >>> Former Man City and Grimsby winger Terry Cooke wants to kick start his career with Bury after being on trial with Andy Preece’s men.

Cambridge >>> U’s Boss John Taylor has challenged his players to build on last seasons position (12th) and nail a play-off spot this season. Skipper Paul Wanless is set to join Oxford United on a free transfer subject to a medical.

Carlisle >>> Last season’s player-manager at Rochdale, Paul Simpson, has joined Carlisle on a one year deal.

Cheltenham >>> Ex-Swansea defender, Steve Jones, has joined Colin Addison at Conference side Forest Green. Jones had been at Whaddan Road for two seasons. Striker Damian Spencer looks set to miss the start of the League season after cracking two ribs against Aberystwyth.

Darlington >>> Darlo keeper Andy Collett has given everyone at Darlington a boost for the new season, by declaring himself fit. He feared that he would miss the first three months of the season. Manager Mick Tait says he is hoping to bring in four signings next week. However no deals have been concluded yet.

Doncaster >>> Dave Penney is frustrated by his team’s inconsistency in the build up to their return to the Football League. Doncaster narrowly lost to Newcastle but then slumped to a defeat against Bradford Park Avenue.

Huddersfield >>> Tyrone Thompson , Bury’s Ian Hughes and Martyn Booty have all agreed deals with Town, while defender Steve Yates is still considering terms.

Hull >>> First choice left-back Andy Dawson faces a four to six week lay-off with damaged knee ligaments. Central defender Greg Strong has been handed a chance to resurrect his career Strong could have a second chance with Hull even though Peter Taylor has tried to offload him to Cheltenham and Scunthorpe to get him off the wage bill.

Kidderminster >>> Harriers boss Ian Britton will decide the futures of Kyle Lightbourne, John Williams, Kenny Coleman, Narada and Craig Wilding all on trial with Kidderminster before Wednesday. But Britton did say (not Leon!) he could still sign John Williams despite an injury.

Leyton O >>> Former Leeds youngster Tom Newey has signed a two-year deal while defensive duo Jim Laughlan and Karl Ready are training with Orient.

Lincoln >>> Lincoln have been handed a “modest cash donation” from a mystery foreigner this donation, along with a cash injection by chairman Rob Bradley means boss Keith Alexander can now search the transfer market to boost his squad.

Macclesfield >>> David Moss wants his team to reach the play-offs this season “I’ve got a squad now that is very competitive and I am much more optimistic and confident than I was this time last season.” Jamie Milligan is set join the Silkmen this week.

Mansfield >>> Striker Andy White has agreed a one-year contract extension with the Stags, trialists Mark Darko and Mark Caine have been released. Tony Vaughan, who has been on trial with the Stags recently, has agreed terms with the club. Forest signed Vaughan for £350,000 in March 2000.

Northampton >>> Northampton are currently in the USA on their pre-season tour, the Cobblers have announced a partnership deal with the Sports Management Group (SMG) of the East Coast. Northampton will see the benefit of $500,000 over the next 5 years. SMG have undertaken to commit selling a volume of Northampton Town merchandise in the US, including replica shirts!!!! It will also help develop soccer camps for young children.

Oxford >>> Cambridge skipper Paul Wanless will join Oxford on a free transfer subject to a medical, this will be Atkin’s sixth signing of the summer. Also U’s defender Paul Powell could make a return to the Kassam – months after being released by Oxford – he is currently on trial there.

Rochdale >>> Dale have signed former Barnsley midfielder and New Zealand winger Leo Bertos on a one year deal. Manager Alan Buckley revealed he lost out on a mystery midfielder this week. Buckley told the club’s Official Website "I’m still not happy with the balance of the squad,"

Scunthorpe >>> Mark Jackson has been appointed as club captain after Peter Beagrie opted to step down from the role. Scunthorpe are to give a trial and sign Steve McLean on loan, who is tipped to have a bright future at Ibrox.

Southend >>> Ex-Bristol full back Che Wilson has agreed a deal to stay at Southend and the Shrimpers have also completed the signing of Michael Husbands on a permanent deal.

Torquay >>> Coach Leroy Rosenior will hold a shoot-out competition to settle who should take Torquay United’s penalties in future – after Alex Russell’s fourth successive miss against Swindon on Wednesday. Official Site Webmaster Richard Hughes will be laid off at the end of the month.

Yeovil >>> Portuguese central defender Hugo Rodrigues has signed a 12-month contract with Football League new boys Yeovil Town and Bath City midfielder and Swansea target Jamie Gosling has signed a contract with the Glovers. Also Yeovil fans will cycle to their first League game against Rochdale, they will be raising money for the St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice Yeovil Appeal.

York >>> York City have signed Mitch Ward, centre-back Andy Jordan, midfielder Darren Dunning and strike duo Aaron Wilford and Liam George all of whom have signed one-year contracts.
