It’s Sunday League!

The JackArmy.net Team Go Sunday League

The team was put together last year originally for a couple of games against the Cardiff supporters from SleepingGiant.com. Both of those games were won and since then the side has played in locations such as Wrexham and Liverpool as well as return games against Cardiff, retaining one of their trophies. They have put together a side that is capable of playing some very attractive football and have now decided that it is time to pit their wits against other sides on a more regular basis.

Speaking about the move, coach Stephen ‘Reeco’ Rees said "The work we have put into this has been exhausting but worthwhile. The games against Cardiff are particularly important to build bridges between the two clubs and I feel that we have a reasonable chance of success in the Sunday League. From what started as an idea on a message board, it is incredible to think how far we have come in the last twelve months. With more regular action for the lads we can surely only get better from here?"

The JackArmy.net football team have already received a Black kit from Swans’ kit makers Bergoni to play their matches in and they are also looking for other sponsors to assist with the purchase of further kit that the team will need. If you feel that you can assist the team in this basis then you should contact Reeco by clicking

The team face stiff competition in the Sunday League with the standard of play being very high throughout the league despite the traditional view of a Sunday morning footballer being one that suffers the remains of beer and curry when taking to the pitch! However, having seen the team play against Cardiff at Scurlage this year I was impressed with the standard of football on show (on both sides) and feel that they could well make the grade at this level.

The work that they have put in over the past twelve months has been nothing short of incredible and to be able to see a game between Swansea and Cardiff without the need of a police escort is a nice experience. I hope that they get the support that they deserve and the fixtures that they have ahead of them will of course be publicised on the web-site for anyone who has an interest in watching the games.
