Programme – Lincoln

Ten games played. Eleventh against Hull. Same scenario for the last two seasons. Last season we drew 1-1 at the KC Stadium, this season we went down to an unlucky 1-0 defeat. Last season we ended 11 games with 7 points on the board, this season we have 22. Doesn’t take a genius from here on in does it? This has been our best start to a season in the last seven years – even the championship success of 3 years ago was not matched with this kind of success and we can bounce back from a defeat in what will be one of our toughest fixtures this season. Let’s not let one defeat get us down we are still showing promotion (and dare I say championship) winning form.

JackArmy.net has been in the spotlight this week with it being crowned the busiest site on the Rivals.net network outside the top two divisions. In fact, Stoke, Ipswich and WBA apart it is the busiest site outside the Premiership. Over 800,000 page views were recorded on the site during the month of August and the figure has been eclipsed in September so maybe it can look forward to qualifying for Europe via the Intertoto Cup! Figures are great but what it does show is a passion that Swans fans have for their club that doesn’t end when the final whistle blows on a Saturday afternoon – it carries on throughout the day and sometimes well into the night as well. It’s a passion that is not equalled in many places at the top end of the football ladder and something that we should be proud of. We have all witnessed the support for the team home and away and for many of us we live and breath the actions and incidents within the Vetch.

Saturday morning’s are entertaining these days as well with our own Lee Trundle falling not too far short of having his own showboating slot on Soccer Am on Sky. Last week’s programme was accompanied by a comment that Mr Erikkson should be made aware of his availablility. Slightly tongue in cheek I know but coverage like this will only be invaluable to the club and it means that there is an increased chance for the club seeing the Sky TV cameras again this season at the Vetch. And who can blame them – along with the rest of you I witnessed the shoulder roll he performed against Huddersfield and whilst it may not have impressed Peter Jackson that much I bet there is no Swans fan who witnessed it who did not have a smile of joy mixed with disbelief when he did it. He’s a bit different is our Lee!

Finally this week, it’s nice to see work taking place at the Morfa site. I have started to compile a section on the web-site that covers news, views, pictures and anything you want on the building of our new stadium. It’s well worth a look when you get the chance and anyone who has anything to say on the subject is more than welcome to air their opinion by contacting me via the methods below.

As I write this article I hope I am at the game today to appreciate it but with the birth of my first child due any day there is a chance I may not. Just remember if my seat in the stand is empty it means that there has been another Jack born into the world so give the lads an extra shout for him or her.

JACK ARMY!
